I always spend the first few minutes of a lesson recapping what we have done in the lessons before and going through the homework questions.

Then, I introduce a new topic and I go through an example before letting the student have a go, making sure that they have understood the content . We then apply the knowledge by going through harder exam questions.

In the last few minutes of the lesson I tend to recap what we have done, set some homework, and ask the student if they have any questions.
