I have discovered that students learn more swiftly and comprehend and remember better when I establish a "real world" link to the subject being taught. To achieve this, I frequently incorporate analogies and metaphors, helping students recognize a direct connection between the course material and their everyday experiences. Once this connection is established, it becomes ingrained, significantly enhancing the probability that students will sustain their interest in the subject matter. This approach avoids presenting information as abstract facts and figures to be memorized solely for the sake of learning.

I also utilize performance-based exercises in the classroom to "bring lessons to life." These exercises involve active participation and practical application of knowledge, allowing students to engage in hands-on experiences and showcase their understanding. By encouraging students to actively perform tasks, solve problems, or demonstrate skills, they not only deepen their understanding of the subject matter but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This approach fosters a dynamic and interactive learning environment that promotes collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Performance-based exercises provide immediate feedback, enabling students to identify areas for improvement and refine their knowledge and abilities. Moreover, they help bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for real-world application of what they have learned. Overall, incorporating performance-based exercises empowers and motivates students, making the learning process more engaging, relevant, and effective.

Basically I like to think of myself mainly as a facilitator, employing a varied and interactive curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles and interests. My classes incorporate engaging activities such as group discussions, role-playing and language games to promote active participation and foster meaningful and creative communication skills among my students.
