I have not yet had individual experiences of teaching but I have had tutoring myself during my time in education and feel I could teach others in a similar way to how I liked to be taught. I like to communicate and work with other people, and this is evident both through school and university, but also in my time as a high-level rower.

My lessons are likely to be personal, and I would feel more comfortable getting to know an individual and what their aims are, in order to create a programme that suits them and allows them to achieve their goals within a time period. I would be happy to approach lessons in any way, depending on how my student learnt best. I am a big fan of more fun and interactive activities such as flash cards, work sheets, and games at a lower level. However, as a Durham University graduate I also have detailed notes and essays across a different range of psychological topics and also in statistics which I feel may contribute to a student's knowledge and may help to bulk out any information they are provided with at school.

In topics I was both familiar and more unfamiliar with, I am confident in my ability to understand things thoroughly before attempting to explain to others. Hence, I would think it fair to do some homework of my own throughout my time as a tutor. I would be happy to cooperate with either dependent or independent workers, and provide them with the amount of support they feel they need, or even just be there to provide a confidence boost.
