My journey as a tutor began in 2021, working in particular with students whose education had been heavily affected by the pandemic. In this time I have developed a passion for sharing knowledge, helping students whose shoes I was in just a few years ago. I am also well adapted to tutoring remotely; despite being behind a screen, I always strive to create good personal connections with students, which allows them to get the most out of my teaching.
I always design my lesson plans to be varied; they include teaching syllabus content, to quizzes and other short activities, to essay feedback sessions, to practicing exam questions together- all tailored to each individual student's needs. Communicating with both the student and parents in order to figure out what each child needs is very important to me.
When starting my A levels back in 2018, I was not considering Oxbridge, or even going to university at all. But with persistent encouragement and reassurance from my history teacher, I found the confidence to apply. In essence, self-confidence is the key, and I endeavour to be the kind of tutor who motivates and inspires their students to believe in their abilities. Whilst students will all embark on different paths in their future, all of them share the fact that they need the confidence to find it- this is one of the chief roles of any educator. I want to use tutoring to help each student find their own potential, wherever it may lead them.
I look forward to working with you!
