I understand how challenging learning a language is, so I seek to accommodate your own preferred styles of learning when tailoring a programme of lessons. I hope to be patient and considerate of your needs at all times, so that you truly enjoy the lessons and love learning Spanish.

Coming into the lessons, I will draw on your own stated goals — if you’re a student, this could be areas of the curriculum you find most challenging, or a certain skill (reading, listening) that you want to develop further. Rather than just telling you what you’re getting right and wrong, I hope to gain an understanding of your thought processes in order to guide you towards more successful strategies. You never stop learning a language once you start, and everyone has areas that they find more challenging than others!

I obtained an A* in Spanish at both GCSE and A-level, so I not only understand the demands of the curriculum but also know how to overcome certain hurdles while still focussing on the wonderful experience of learning a language. In particular, I find cultural knowledge (history, music, TV/film) as great gateways to improving language ability and educational success, as well as developing a love for the Spanish language and Spanish and Latin American culture that will keep you engaged. Learning Spanish has opened up doors for me that would have never seemed possible otherwise, and helped me in every area of my life – hopefully I’ll be able to do the same for you!
