Danny

Having taught both in the UK and overseas over the last decade, I am the ideal tutor to help prepare learners for SATs, Secondary School and beyond. I qualified from Edinburgh University in 2014 and have taught in Scotland and Russia since then.

I have taught extensively at the transition stage of the end of primary school, and have recently led literacy development within a Scottish Primary School. I also have a deep understanding of numeracy and of both the numeracy and literacy skills needed to succeed in British Primary Education. I have at my disposal, a familiarity with numerous banks of resources to help with learning, and no two lessons will be the same. I have a particular fondness for teaching reading skills, writing and developing knowledge in numeracy such as algebra.

After talking with you and deciding on your goals, I will tailor a scheme of sessions to target those skills. This will generally entail a short "taught" section, followed by plenty of practise on your behalf. I will be on hand to guide from the side, and to discuss your strengths and areas for development as we move through the lessons.

As well as teaching, I am undertaking Counselling training, and pride myself on building rapport with my students and their families. Working with me will progress your learning as well as develop your own confidence.
