I have experience helping children in primary and secondary school including children with educational special needs such as Aspergers, autism and physical disabilities. I gained this experience by volunteering at my secondary school to help tutor other kids. I also help my cousins (now aged 9 and 12) with their Maths, DT, Science, Religious Studies, English Language and Literature, History, Art and Geography. My specialty is in biology as I have a degree in natural sciences. I am passionate about my subject and am keen to help anyone who reaches out.

The format I use for my study sessions are not fixed as each individual has different learning preferences. Therefore, I like to adjust the dynamics of the lesson accordingly. Parents who also want specific results and help with homework tips are free to sit in and also help adjust the lessons as they see fit. I am an advocator of positive reinforcement and listen well. I believe patience and compassion are strong qualities that I have that help me teach effectively.

The initial meeting will be a discussion on the material and subject or subjects of interest. This will include areas of difficultly, areas that the student enjoys and what type of learning style is preferred. I will then plan lessons ahead of time that best suit the individual. I also use props for younger children such as puppets to make learning more fun and memorable.

In the case of helping with homework I am flexible to help as needed.
