- GCSE English Language lessons - We will begin with going through each of the 5 questions for both papers , analysing the skills the examiners are requiring by mind-mapping and attempt practice questions to consolidate. Once we go through each question, we will complete practice papers together and mark together, reflecting on what you did well and how you can further improve.

Typical homework may involve reading extracts and annotating them to get used to their structure.

-GCSE English Literature lessons - We will first analyse the text’s context, characters, themes , genre and structural devices to allow you to know the text inside out. The rest of the lessons will involve planning and writing parts of essay question and learning a paragraphing structure to ensure you achieve the best mark and I will teach you how to define your essays so they stand out from the average ones.

For both subjects, my aim will be to adapt the students to the mark schemes as this is a technique I used to achieve top grades at GCSE level as knowing what the examiners are looking for and practising those skills in essays will almost guarantee reaching the top bands.
