I like to start my lessons by giving the students a clear picture of the main topic and it's parts. Then is important to understand difficult concepts in a clear and simple way. Audio and visuals in the form of power points,diagrams,videos and pictures are very helpful. The critical concepts need to be understood and made simple for the student to be able to put all the pieces together like in a puzzle with all the parts coming together until is completed. The dynamics in the class with active participation is important. Questions and answers during lecture help to understand the lesson, instead of just passive listening. Knowledge reinforcement is encouraged by active participation. Is important to realize that, understanding of concepts is much better than raw memorizing. The use of acronyms is a practical way to learn things that need to be memorized.
