I am currently an A Level Student studying Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I achieved an A* in A Level Maths which I sat 2 years early. Being a young person myself I believe it makes me more relatable for my students so they feel less pressure which helps many people to learn as it is a more comfortable environment. For my lessons I use bitpaper which is an online interactive whiteboard that both myself and my students can see and edit in real time. It can be accessed by anyone with access to the internet by simply opening a link in their web browser. I will also run a video call at the same time so I can see and speak to students too. I have received lots of great feedback from parents saying that their child feels more confident, that they are seeing an improvement in their maths and that they have seen improved grades too. Depending on the needs of the student, the lesson will usually be structured one of two ways: for students who struggle to keep up in class, the lessons will be focused around their class topics so I will explain these in more depth with worked examples and practice questions, until they are happy, confident and comfortable enough to do questions on their own. For students who are able to understand at the time but struggle to remember the topic a few months later, the lessons will begin with a few questions and examples from what they are studying in class followed by a few questions from other topics we have covered previously to keep revisiting that content. In the run up to in class tests or mock exams I have also been through revision lists with students giving them example questions and ensuring they are comfortable with the topics before the exam.
