I grew up in Canada, learning French through French Immersion, and then continued my studies to university and earned a Master's through the medium of French. I then lived in Dubai for 5 years before meeting my husband and relocating to the UK.
I trained as a French and Spanish second language teacher in Manchester, and earned my QTS status working in Bolton, before we relocated to Australia. I have taught French from Kindy to A-level, using both Australian and UK curriculum including GCSE, IGCSE, ATAR, and A-level.
I have recently begun a Cambridge English Language certificate for Teaching Adults (CELTA). I am a francophile and love all things French, as well as all things language related. I am looking forward to teaching students around the world and sharing my passion for language and culture.
I don't work from a pre-determined text or set of existing lessons, rather I adapt my teaching to your needs, interests, motivations and goals. I am flexible and adaptable and my knowledge of language and teaching is both wide and deep so I am confident I can help you improve your French, no matter what your previous exposure or experience.
I have a great sense of humour and I enjoy using technology as well as other mixed methods in my lessons, which are always dynamic and focus on acquisition and skills, so that you don't forget from one lesson to another. But to work with me, you will need to be committed to putting in the time and effort as well!
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
