I like to have the student close his eyes and try to visualise the information, by doing this it gives them a better understanding of what the the word is and what it should sound like.
Have the student take notes and use colored markers to highlight, I find that using coloured markers for certain individuals help them stay concentrated.
I love to teach the use of acronyms to help visualise lists, this was how I was thought in school and it really helped me.
I am a very patient teacher, so if my student is having difficulty understanding what we are learning I am always open to trying different approaches in the lesson so they can understand better and be more comfortable at the lesson, I honestly believe in taking time with my students instead of rushing over things because even if we spend the whole day learning and we only achieved one or two things out of the many other things we needed to learn, that would be way more beneficial than learning a thousand things and none of them end up sticking with them.
The reason I use this system in my teaching is because this was the way I was taught and it really helped me achieve what I have today.
