The first lesson with me would begin with gauging your current level of playability and a quick discussion of your goals and influences. I am versatile with a plethora of genres and music styles and I believe I can aid you in your playing whether it be fingerstyle on your acoustic guitar or shredding on your electric. I have over 6 years of experience teaching guitar and theory to all ages and I like to approach students with patience and empathy.
I teach beginners how to read guitar tab and chord charts first and use them in context, such as playing their favourite songs. If it is a hard song to play I often find a way to simplify it and will send PDF files of the music and support material and gradually build up from there.
For more intermediate-advanced players I like to teach different ideas such as the CAGED system and modes and begin teaching how to apply it in contexts, such as improvisation or songwriting.
If you are eager to play live as a solo act or in a band I have 14 years of gigging experience and will gladly incorporate refining your musicianship during lessons and cover creating a great sound with through the use of effects and balancing tones.
