I'm a 23 year old tutor currently living in London! I have chosen English Literature and Language as my field of study because I simply love analysing texts. My expertise is close textual analysis, so picking apart certain language choices, thematic concerns and literary techniques is my bread and butter! I want to help my students improve by hopefully igniting a passion for English Literature and Language, regardless of their ability. In my book, any interpretation is a good interpretation, as long as it's backed up with sufficient evidence!

In relation to my teaching style, I tend to structure my lessons by first outlining the goals of the lesson, and addressing any concerns the student had with the reading or work set prior to the lesson. I will then go into my lesson plan, and how I will set about tackling the text. During my lesson, I will encourage whoever I'm teaching to give their take on the points I'm addressing. I understand that this subject can be tricky to navigate, so I will never push my students if they don't feel comfortable or ready to talk. My aim is to get the student to engage with the text, and take at least one thing away from the lesson, however big or small that may be. Discussion is so important to English Literature and Language, so I want to hear your voice!
