I have experience in schools and private tutoring. I always try to alter my lessons to adapt to the students learning styles so I have been known to incorporate Art, educational games and educational videos into my lessons. I always start the first lesson with a simple introduction of myself and getting to know the student, then I gauge what level they're working and and what they're strengths and weaknesses are before discussing with the student what we should start working on first. I always make sure the student is happy with the plans and progress.
I am a strong believer that mental health and confidence plays a large role in academics. If the student lacks confidence, motivation, or feels low, then their performance will suffer. Therefore, I always aim to improve such qualities throughout the lessons, giving them encouragement and support.
I also acknowledge that everyone has a different way of learning, some get bored quicker than others, some can't hold focus for too long, and so on. For this reason, I will never expect two students to do the exact same work if it does not align with their learning type and personality.
My professional tutoring experience has been primarily in person so far with positive feedback. I worked in several schools and always received praise and positive feedback from them aswell. I have also tutored informally for family and friends on many occasions, ranging from reception to year 11. I am passionate about teaching and believe this to reflect in my work.
