Dan Rowden

Hi, I'm Dan.

I am a qualified language tutor with a degree in Italian Studies from the University of Manchester.

Whether you're an absolute beginner, need specific help studying towards an exam (GCSE, Nat 4/5, A-Level, Higher), or are looking to learn Italian for a hobby or for work, I'd love to help.

I tailor lessons to the student's needs, so in addition to covering the core skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, I'm happy to use movies, role playing scenarios, puzzles, song lyrics, newspaper articles or literature to engage and teach. If you're studying towards an exam, we will also work on past papers to give an idea on what is required.

I'll also ensure that you get a strong understanding of grammar and pronunciation. Learning a language is fun and requires patience, but with the right approach quick progress can be made and you will soon become confident in reading, writing speaking and listening.

Although based in Glasgow (South side) I have experience of living, working and studying in Italy (North and South), and have Italian family, so I'm well versed in Italian culture and use this to enrich lessons.

In addition to tutoring, I have worked in bilingual environments for over twenty years in fields as diverse as IT, travel and tourism, video gaming and finance, and have most recently been working as a freelance translator of Italian into English, and would love to use my passion for Italy and its language to help you achieve your goals.
