Dan Ezard founded West London Bass Lessons to provide students of all ages and skill levels with guitar, bass guitar, and double bass lessons. With over 15 years of live and studio experience touring throughout the UK and abroad, Dan has a wealth of knowledge to share. He has taught as the Head of Bass Guitar Studies at Exeter College and as the Head of Bass at Portland Place School in London, in addition to private lessons with students of all ages.

Dan's bass lessons are tailored to each student's needs and can focus on their favorite music style or taste, at their own pace. Lessons cover a range of topics such as left-hand positioning, right-hand fingerstyle, slap bass, advanced techniques such as tapping, harmonics, chords/solo bass, pick/plectrum technique, and style files that provide an in-depth study of groundbreaking bassists like Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee, or Larry Graham. Other areas of focus include scales and arpeggios, sight-reading, harmony and theory, ear training, composition, and music technology.

For double bass lessons, Dan covers posture, hand positioning, jazz pizzicato and walking bass lines, classical double bass techniques including the ABRSM Grades, how to hold the bow (French & German Bow), and how to choose the correct instrument. He is also happy to recommend luthiers, shops, or websites for students who are purchasing their first double bass.

In addition to bass lessons, Dan offers acoustic guitar and electric guitar lessons to children and beginners. He has received great reviews from students like Miles, who is currently studying his Registry of Guitar tutors grades and achieving distinctions on every exam.
