About me
I went into teaching to try and make Maths realistic with real life applications but most of all, to show that actually it can be fun and satisfying. The reason I teach today is because of an inspirational teacher that I had when growing up, he was excellent and instilled a love of maths for me.

In our lessons, we will look at the areas that you are finding difficult, or ones that you need more practice with. Finding the topics with the quick gains and potentially to improve your marks quickly are really good places to start. We’ll cover the content, knowledge and skills that examiners will expect you to know, and then put them into practice. Maths is all about practising what you have learned and essentially showing that you understand the content and can interpret the question that you are being asked.
I also like to try and develop my students as excellent problem solvers with real life applications. The ability to be able to repeat what you have been taught is great, but so often I see students that can’t quite interpret a question or aren’t sure what is being asked of them. Exposure to problem solving helps to break down these barriers and use learned skills in a different way. I really believe this works well alongside the content that needs to be covered.
Most students that want tutoring don’t love Maths, and that’s OK. Our job is to get through the exams and show that you have a competency level to get you the grade you need.
