Training will be catered to the student’s needs and requirements. I have access to a broad library of teaching resources and I understand that not everyone wants to be trained on one style.

Within piano, lessons will either be presented with a focus on classical theory, scales, arpeggios, reading music etc, or will be focused on modern technique for keyboard, with chord and arpeggiation skills for easy vamping and improvisation.

If you are new to piano, I will take you through the basics of understanding the music you are listening to, interpreting rhythm and finding your way around melody on the instrument. Both classical and modern players benefit from building upon their ability to navigate the instrument with speed and confidence, but there are also other paths available (like computer assisted arpeggiators etc) and these can also be taught and explored.

If you’re a more accomplished pianist, I will help you maintain your studies and work on exercises to improve your day to day practice.

For music production, the focus will be on how to create a structured track, how to effectively eq tracks, creating comp recordings, mixing and mastering and releasing music. I’ve recorded and released solo albums and worked with recording tracks with youth groups, as well as recording with composers working internationally, mixing and mastering.
Although I do state my focus is Logic Pro, I also have extensive experience with Reason Studios up to version 11.

Art is a broad area of study, but whether you’re new to using any particular material (pencils, pastels etc), or if you have some years of experience, there’s always more to learn. My own degree focus was fine art, painting and I have maintained a practice for 20 years, but I can also train in photoshop, Clip Studio Paint and other digital mediums.

If you want to focus on creative writing, I give honest and constructive feedback and many ways of breaking writer’s block, or finding a path to completing your story. I’ve written and published two novels myself and am currently working on a third, as well ad graphic novelisations of my other works.
