I've found understanding the material and then applying it to questions to work the best, with practice questions being the most effective way to become comfortable using maths concepts.
There are so many practice questions and past papers to use for A-levels that they are your most valuable resource! Similarly with GCSEs, since so many students take a maths GCSE.
With Physics, I find it's even more important to understand the concepts behind the content, especially in context, before you can use them in new contexts.
We would find a method that works for you, through trial and error and discussing it with you.
