About me
When I teach, I like to find out how my students like to learn and then adapt that teaching to them so they get the most out of their learning. Whether that be through visual learning such as PowerPoints or through examples or through writing something and I mark the work… I am happy to adapt to the needs of any student. I want them to get the most out of their learning.

When thinking about content, I usually focus on what the student needs most help with and then build upon the skills around those areas and why these skills are useful in creating better writing. This will then allow the student to see that student to see why we are writing something in a specific way and not just for the hell of it.
I also believe in building a bond with the student. If there is no bond, the lessons themselves will not be as effective. Learning is meant to be enjoyable… the more enjoyable the learning the more that will be learnt. I get my students to tell me what they enjoy and what they are interested in and then we create a pathway of learning around that to ensure they are writing about things they enjoy whilst still embedding those crucial reading and writing skills. This can then translate into more passionate and correct writing given that they have built up a positive relationship with writing and could potentially have created a new like for it.
