I work to build a supportive space for my students and I always provide positive feedback as well as tips for improvement because learning should be an enjoyable experience! Learning is not just about acquiring knowledge but about feeling confident in your own knowledge too!
I have tutored and mentored students in the past; I led revision groups for English Language A-level students, presenting and revising theoretical frameworks, how they are relevant to case studies and how to incorporate them into a comprehensive essay. Furthermore, I tutored a student in A-level Film Studies where we reviewed difficult film sequences, moving step by step to identify the relevant film form, using specific terminology and how we can link this to different film theories and perspectives.
In my college at university, I am the welfare officer in the common room committee, meaning that I represent the student body and implement actions to maintain the wellbeing of the college community. I work in a team with other committee members and college staff members to run events and provide support for those who need it, undergoing Peer Support Training. I love helping people, and think being happy and healthy in a learning environment is vital for progress and success!
