Having previously helped both my brothers prepare for their GCSEs I have found that actively involving students while teaching is extremely beneficial. For example, asking students questions and asking them to explain concepts in their own words is a great way of understanding whether students fully understand the content taught to them. Furthermore, I often use a whiteboard to illustrate more complicated concepts as this allows students to visualise and simplify trickier content. I appreciate that sometimes learning can be tiresome, so my method of teaching is based on involving and engaging students as much as possible.
