I use audio-visuals to facilitate teaching and learning of French. I test learners on their current level before lessons begin. With contant practice on sounds and expressions, I guide learners to learn expressions to be able to speak simple everyday French. To evaluate learners, I give learners audio and written assignments to confirm their abilities.
Since learners learn better from previous knowledge, I teach from known to unknown and also simple to complex. By this, I allow them to practice in class through role plays in real life situations.
Again, I teach learners vocabularies needed for specific situations. For example, everyday expressions used at the restaurant will be learned before practicing a role play in class!
Also, I make sure that learners are armed with grammatical rules in French in a gradual process so as not to reduce confusion.
I believe that practice makes perfect so I encourage learners to speak in order to gain confidence
