I have had a varied career leaving school at 16 & becoming a Mechanical Engineer, then I joined the Royal Navy at the age of 21 as an Electronic Engineer.
I served 25 years in the Royal Navy, completing various jobs such as serving on ships, teaching in military bases & living abroad whilst working in the military.
I finally decided that I needed a change of direction for my career, so I left the Navy & became a member of the Babcock team, tutoring R.E.M.E. solders during their basic training phase in Functional Skills Maths, English & ICT.
This I did successfully until I decided to become a Freelance Functional Skills tutor in 2013.
Since then I have worked for various companies & achieved a high success rate for them.
Then in 2020 the COVID Pandemic happened & I had to change the way that I tutored from face to face tutoring on a one to one & in groups to remote tutoring via Online platforms.
I have been able to adapt my method of tutoring to cater for Remote/Online tutoring, whilst keeping current with the Functional Skills qualifications.
Primarily I tutor on a one to one basis, but if requested to do so I can also tutor groups.
I pride myself on being able to enhance peoples confidence, adapt to their preferred method of learning & help them achieve the success that they deserve.
I am dedicated, enthusiastic, reliable & easy to communicate with, which makes for a good student/tutor relationship.
