My approach to teaching is as varied as my students' needs. However, whenever accessible, I generally like to present visual support, of which I try to design myself as much as possible, allowing for adjustments as and if needed.

I like to start by checking on the student, as their state will determine rhythm and sometimes, direction. Some of the initial classes are focused on being able to have these chats in the target language, if unable.

The contents of the classes are learner-focused so I speak the least, and the student reads and guesses and repeats what I explain. The theory is broken down in the smallest bits as possible, with practice at the end of each section. The content is also focused on students' interests, whenever possible.

I rely on technology (the classes are online to start with) and the current technological culture to support my lessons. For example content written only in the target language often is accompanied by emojis - widely used nowadays. I use online platforms like Save All for homework, as completion rate peaks when placing it on a phone-based format.
In cases of extreme language barrier I share my screen and type on a translator as I speak, and/ or transfer bits of lessons previously produced.

Feedback is a key element for me, and I provide it often, as well as request it. Reflection and self-evaluation are of great importance to me and I believe it has shaped my style in a direction that seems to work with my learners so far.
For feedback on activities, the focus is on the performance (sometimes it happens to be mine), never on personality traits. Circumstances and nuances are taken into account and kindness and positive reinforcement are always the goal.

At the moment, I hold small certifications on teaching, from courses I have done (mostly via British Council). Most of my learning of English has been self managed, and I have acquired many other skills in this way.
At the time of writing this profile, and not taking into account the initial practise period, I have imparted 313 (paid) lessons since February of 2022.

Availability changes by week but within the range specified on this site. I take all Sundays off, and a full weekend of every other week, to allow those working Mon - Fri a weekend day to study.
