I have had over 120 hours experience teaching in the classroom in multiple different schools. My lessons usually consist of a retrieval stater activity in order to assess previous knowledge and also to embed content into the long term memory. I will talk through the main ideas/knowledge with different tasks throughout the lesson to assess understanding. If at GCSE I will include exam style questions in every lesson to demonstrate application abilities to new contexts. Once conceptual knowledge is learned, it is my aim to stretch and challenge students in order for them to succeed when it comes to their GCSEs where unfamiliar contexts will be encountered within questions. I am experienced in teaching students with ranging abilities, but also those who may have SEN therefore I am able to utilise strategies to allow all students I teach to access the curriculum.
