I understand that English Literature can be a difficult subject to study, my position as a tutor would be to break it down as simply as possible as the only way to build up your knowledge is to have a deep understanding of the theme, book or play you are studying. The format I would use is by first reading through the text and covering the general topics and themes. Each lesson will then be ensuring you are able to apply the themes in question to different areas of the text in the structured PEEL paragraph formula or which ever paragraph structure is more compatible for you. I find from personal experience, I preferred a different alternative paragraph writing formula than the structured one given. Therefore, it is important to me as a tutor to provide and customise lessons tailored to your requirements and make it as easy to understand as possible. The lessons I would provide are interactive and ensuring the understanding of your learning and providing exercises that make your future assessments as easy and stress-free as possible. From personal experience, I can comprehend the hesitation behind the subject of English Literature, but I found that with the right teachers and interactivity in a classroom, the subject becomes far less daunting and scary. I believe that within my tutoring sessions, I will attempt to ease your worries regarding the subject of English and by asking a few questions to gain insight into the student's worries, I will then be able to guide and cater to the student accordingly.
