I find the best method for a lesson to include a starter recap of what we did last time, almost like a little quiz. For example, if we was learning about the heart last session, I’ll ask you to label parts of the heart and see what you or your child can remember. Afterwards, we move onto the main content of the lesson, which I will describe using PowerPoints (can be sent to review and study after our session too). Lastly, I try to finish my lessons with a Kahoot. It’s important to always end on a positive note with lessons, as I realise the content can be tough and every student learns in a different way. These kahoot quizzes are handmade and I will talk your child through them every step of the way. Before we finish, I will always ask you or your child if there’s anything you want to cover next time or if you particularly struggled with a certain topic that we covered. I have picked up these methods from my own teachers and some experience that I have coaching children in my spare time for sports. These listening and motivational techniques really help me stand out from other tutors. I promise that within my care, you or your child will have a much better understanding of Biology and all it’s concepts.
