I am an experienced field biologist, with particular emphasis in the marine science field. I've had the opportunity to meet a variety of scientists through my career, and I believe I have gained considerable skills in education and outreach from these experiences. I have always found that information is best understood with intuitive questions, explanatory answers and examples that properly apply the concept being taught. Reinforcing information from lessons with actual examples is an effective way to solidify understanding. Encouragement, enthusiasm, and teamwork have been important tools in my career, and I will do my best to make sure they are upheld during my time in the classroom
