I will work with you to teach in a way that best benefits your learning style. I benefitted from one on one schooling through secondary school and believe that personalization in a lesson is the most efficient way to find breakthroughs and success. We will begin by discussing not just your goals but also what helps you learn. By modulating my approach to teaching, I will help make our subjects more approachable and make our lessons stick. A belief that strong writing and reasoning skills are the most fundamental skills to master for academic success in both law and the humanities shapes my overall teaching philosophy.
I bring a relaxed and casual demeanour to subjects known to be particularly stressful. While my lessons are certainly professions, I do not believe that any studies need to be intimidating, and by being more approachable myself, I hope to make our lessons more enjoyable and less of a stress inducing ordeal. I am flexible in my ability to provide assistance and am happy to work around complicated schedules and give ad hoc lessons if needed.
My personal experience includes 8 years of tutoring in the USA, Ireland, and the UK. I have studied at the Universities of Notre Dame, Cork, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Oxford and experienced exemplary success. Most recently I have decided to reorient my career as a solicitor towards one in academia. I am now specializing in Intellectual Property Law, but have studied History, Literature, Theology, and Law and am comfortable providing lessons across the humanities, as well as providing assistance in university applications.
