I am Colin, a qualified Yoga Teacher.
I first discovered Yoga in 2018 immediately after ending a long and stressful career in Banking IT. From my first introduction to the Yoga environment I had a feeling of a welcoming space and, of coming home holistically, especially in my head and in my heart, these feelings have continued to deepen every day and in so many ways
I was into sports in a big way, mainly playing (and watching) football to a high level and had a regular weights and fitness regime however, once Yoga came into my life I promptly swapped my football boots and loud grunting for a Yoga mat and technique breathing.
A member of the Dylan Ayaloo cohort 2020, that traveled to Mannar, Sri Lanka, for Yoga Teacher Training and Transformation Program. Completed 200 Hour Yoga Alliance, Power (and Forest) Yoga Qualification and returned to a UK entering into its first COVID Lock-down. During this period I continued to deepen my studies and hone the physical and verbal sides of teaching Yoga in my style.
June 2020 I started delivering Yoga classes Online (via Zoom) to students ranging from 'Absolute Beginners' and 'Intermediate Level Yogis' to Football teams and individual players. As soon as restrictions were lifted I added 'In-Person' 1:1 and group sessions to the mix.
I teach varied levels of Flow which includes breathing techniques, I also teach Yin and Restorative Yoga and offer a number of bespoke options all of which I adapt according to the needs of the class and the individual.
As I continue to cultivate my own Yoga practice and understanding, I love to share my journey with others who, on occasion have joined a few 'Yoga Treats' (small events) organised at my home. I hope to do more of these and scale up to retreats etc.
I have seen firsthand (and am a living example) of how Yoga can change lives. I am moved every time I witness the gaze of beginners once the release of 'happy hormones' finds its way through them for the first time as much as when experienced Yogis receive that same chemical fix.
My aim is to help people connect to themselves and others to be the change they want to see.
Look forward to seeing you on the mat!
