My teaching background:
I have taught many students of all ages and abilities over my approximately ten years in teaching and tutoring. Two of those years were spent teaching adults with learning disabilities, mainly on "Zoom", working for a Watford-based teaching charity but 90% of my teaching has been with French learners preparing for GCSE exams. A few studied with me for A Level. My adult students, taught in small classes or one-to-one usually had property in France or a professional reason for wanting to improve their French.
As well as being a teacher I am also a language-learner as this helps me to be sensitive to learners' needs as well as its being a pleasurable activity in itself.
Where I teach:
I am very happy to travel to students' homes within a five mile radius of Watford including Northwood, Hatch End, Stanmore, Bushey, N. Watford etc. I have a recent Basic Certificate DBS Check (June 2023).
Other than French:
As well as teaching French, I have been a Basic Literacy for Adults class teacher (8 to 10 learners per class) and have taught English as a Foreign Language classes (I worked at St-Lô in Normandy during an academic year).
Finally, I am new to this website as of early July 2023 so recommendations are rather thin on the ground, so far, at least!
