I have seven years of teaching experience in the UK, Andorra and Chile, where I have taught students individually and in larger groups at any age: from pre-schoolers to adults. A conscientious, hardworking, friendly Modern Languages graduate from the University of Oxford, I consider myself to be motivated and passionate about helping people to improve their languages skills. Having grown up in a multilingual, multicultural environment, languages, culture and communication have always been my passion.
The absolute best method to improve your language skills is with immersion, but it isn't always possible to travel to another country to do this. So, depending on your level in the language you are learning, ideally I would conduct our classes in the target language as much as possible. Of course, if you are just starting to learn your language or if you struggle with speaking, we can involve this later! Each session would involve a warm-up activity, speaking practice and writing exercises to make you feel more confident using the foreign language you are studying, as well as exercises to practice before the next lesson together.
In terms of content, we can cover a variety of topics in the language you are studying if you are working towards taking an exam. These can range from grammar points (e.g., use of negative expressions, how to construct and use different tenses, conjugation) to ways to express yourself (e.g., new vocabulary, opinion phrases, questions) to vocabulary sessions (e.g., on politics, family life, culture).
Most importantly, I want to make our lessons enjoyable! I want to be able to tailor classes to help you strengthen your language knowledge, whether it be through grammar exercises, essays, speaking practice or beyond.
