Connor Hounsome (BA, MA), the founder of Clever Class Tutoring. A lover of English, fascinated by poetry and someone with a deep passion for English education. He has a background spanning all ages, access needs and ability levels. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to English Learning. As an English Specialist Teacher, he excelled in various roles, including Lead Practitioner and Co-ordinator for both English and Computing in both public and private education, demonstrating a versatile and dynamic approach to learning.

TEFL Certified, he has extensive experience in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) to both children and adults, dedicating significant effort to ensure every student reaches their fullest potential. Believing in a student-centered approach, he shapes each lesson to be relevant, useful, and adapted to individual needs, providing strong English support from KS1 through GCSE and beyond.

With intimate knowledge of 11+ preparation, he has successfully guided many students to academic and scholarship success. This success extends to preparation for SATS and GCSE exams, ensuring students are well-equipped for their future.

Lessons are primarily conducted online, with learning led by the student and focusing on their subjects of interest and relevance. Using online learning platforms and with the ability to record lessons we give you the opportunity to supercharge your learning.

Lesson outlines can be agreed upon with the student in advance and can be matched to the competency level that student often displays. Whether we are working together to nail the fundamentals through fun games, or really taking sentences apart to analyse them learning is always carefully tailored so you get the most out of every lesson.
