I focus on getting my student to speak as much as possible in the class. It is my belief that an important part of language learning is learning about the culture of the countries where the language is spoken so I tailor classes to include cultural content in the target language related to topics that interest the student. This approach is useful for exam preparation as well, as exams tend to ask for evidence that the student has a grasp of the culture as well as the language.
I have a lot of experience tutoring people who are preparing for GCSE And A-Level examinations. I have experience of learning MFL in school so I know what can be lacking from the teaching and how to compliment it.
