I am a mother of two grown up children, I was born in Germany and moved to Canada when I was 15 and lived there for 25 years, since then I have been living in the UK where I really like it! With a Canadian husband, our children grew up completely bilingual and are now realising the benefit of speaking two languages perfectly. I have taught the Berlitz method which is based on solely using the language that you are teaching through repetition, gestures and explanations. I would engage in conversation discussing real-life issues and situations through full immersion if possible and correct and repeat the mistakes where necessary. It has proven to be a very successful method and seems to be enjoyed by the students. I would also prepare lessons according to the need of the student with exercises and visual aids if necessary.
