Hi! I'm Clara, a second-year English student at the University of Oxford. I am a passionate tutor, specialising in English and Maths, eager to help students fulfil their potential.

I believe that self-confidence and enjoyment are core to academic success, which is reflected in my teaching style. With classes adapted to each student and their specific focus areas, I aim to make learning accessible, enjoyable and effective. I am committed to improving the understanding of students at any age and ability.

My main focus is helping each student understand their own learning style in order to find the revision and exam techniques that work best for them, in addition to repetition (often in the form of practice questions) and looking at the subject from new perspectives.

I have experience tutoring various students GCSE Maths and English which has allowed me to see the impressive progress that students can make with the right help and practice. After achieving A* and 9s both English and Maths GCSE and A levels, I know what is required to access the top grades!

In addition to tutoring, I have aided prospective English Applicants through the Oxford Admissions process with the platform ZeroGravity. After successfully going through this myself, I understand how daunting and confusing it can be. This is why I also offer Oxbridge/general application help to enable students to display their full potential and give them the best possible chance at applying to a top University. This can include working on personal statements, extracurricular advice, admissions tests and interview practice.
Although I have specific knowledge about applying for English Language and Literature, I am available to help with any humanities subject.

Outside of the academic term, I am available for in-person or online lessons. During term time, lessons will only be online.
