I have years of experience as a tutor, teaching Maths and Science, working mostly in students’ homes and I recently qualified as a teacher, gaining QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with my PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in General Science with a specialism in Biology.

The classroom experience I have gained has been invaluable in boosting my knowledge of different curricula as well as giving me the opportunity to hone my craft for less willing audiences…

Working with exam groups has also given me great insight into what is required of students as well as what is expected in terms of examiner’s criteria.

My results show improvement in student attainment, usually by a grade or two but even more with determined/hardworking students - my key to success is making sessions fun and showing how easy it can be to apply knowledge.

My most recent feedback survey has been very positive, showing that students also appreciate my efforts - I am still continuing to work hard to improve my practice and provide the best lessons possible with patience, fun and practical examples to bring science to life and develop interest in students whilst boosting confidence and grades.
