I very much enjoy teaching English as a Foreign language to students of any age. I like to try and find out from my students firstly what level of English written and spoken that they currently have and then establish with them how they like to learn.
From those conversations l then develop personalized lesson plans and agree a timeframe for how l see the lessons will proceed. I always try and encourage my students to ask me questions about every stage of the learning process so that we both understand and engage as fully as possible in that to encourage success and positive outcomes.
I usually develop a set of exercises based on each individual’s own pace of learning and will adapt and change those as required.
Following each lesson l always offer a clear explanation of how l feel the individual is progressing so that he/she and l agree where any areas of extra help are required (or not required, as the case may be!)
I try to be a flexible as l can in my teaching using a range of written and verbal exercises to encourage growth and learning.
