The study of Theology, Philosophy and History is based on examination of primary documents, and the context of their writing and reception. And so, my style of tuition is based upon reading these texts together, keeping ideas evidence based, as well as understanding the various developments and critiques of the subjects.

When I was engage in my own doctoral research at the University of Cambridge, it was one of my delights to supervise undergraduates in the fields of Theology, Philosophy, History and English. Later I wrote course books, tutored and ran seminars for postgraduate students. But in all my academic work I have found it absolutely essential to engage in one-to-one tuition.

Because both you and I are engaged in the work of the academy together, then insights can be developed and debated thoroughly, as we make them our own. It can be rigorous work, but what comes are good results, and perhaps more importantly a sharp and critical mind.
