Greet students as rising scholars and individuals. Themed courses and interdisciplinary approaches designed for inclusion are my passion. I have certifications in Writing in the Disciplines (WID), Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC), and Write to Learn (WTL). I am a highly trained and certified Distance Learning (DL) professional having taught a wide range of web-supported courses including in person instruction in a networked computer classroom, live video delivery, hybrid in person and online courses (meeting at least once a week on campus for support), and fully online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. Writing, the study of writing, and the teaching of writing, both as a reader and writer, is my life. I am a prolific researcher and writer with over 35 years publishing in regional newspapers, popular and trade magazines, trade journals. I have a very active life as a content creator for websites, blogs, and a wide variety of social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. My student populations have been extremely diverse with LaGuardia Community College of the City University being arguably one of the most diverse college campuses in the world. I will use any approach or tool at my disposal to meet the students as individuals, where they are and assist them along their road to the future.
