Hello! I have been teaching and tutoring for over 35 years. I have now stopped teaching in schools and solely do face-to-face or online tutoring. I have taught students from age 4 to 80 in both my teaching and tutoring roles. I have taught in Primary, Secondary, Further, Higher and Adult Education and have loved all the different experiences I have had.

For the last few years I have been teaching online due to COVID and this has continued to work really well for many of my students. I use ZOOM for my lessons as I find the whiteboard and writing facilities easy to use and it is very straightforward for both me and my student to share websites that we need to use. I store all lesson materials on Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox, whichever my student prefers. Sometimes I just email them to my student. Now, I am offering face-to-face lessons again as well as online.

My first aim is to make you, my student, feel at ease with me so that you feel able to ask me about anything that is worrying you in your learning. We can have a talk about how you like to learn, what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you are hoping to gain from the lessons. I use a variety of different websites - both free and subscription - to enhance your learning. We can decide the topic of each lesson in advance, but I am open to changing at the last minute if need be - if something urgent has cropped up between lessons.
