I have Spanish & Basque family living in Spain. Native speakers who do not speak English so I had no choice but to learn Spanish. I was born in the UK but have travelled extensively and lived for a time in the Middle East. I believe that to teach frequently used phrases first of all is important in learning a language, then to learn the grammar. The reason for this is that a small child learns to speak in phrases before they learn the grammar and structure of a language. I incorporate a little of the history of Spain; the culture and cuisine as it is important to understand how different cultures and customs affects the thinking, feelings and emotions of the people. I try to make learning interesting by giving a flavour and taste of Spain so that the student wishes to make haste to visit this wonderful country.
