Doesn’t learning often feel like rolling a giant boulder up a mountain? Unfortunately, learning will never end in our lives. So, what should we do to make learning easy and satisfying? Obviously, we need to develop our strengths to roll that giant boulder, but we don’t know how! That’s why I am here for you.
There are four methods to build your strength, which I call MAPS:
- Metacognitive learning,
- Adapting strategic learning techniques as a routine,
- Provoking curiosity,
- Self-awareness and Self-reflection
Just to briefly introduce myself, I am a qualified Science teacher who has completed a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Warwick and a Science PGCE course at the University of Oxford. I specialise in Chemistry, but I can also teach Biology, Physics, and Maths up to GCSE level.
I want to emphasise that you hold the key to your own learning journey, and my role is simply to be your guide. It's essential that you take full ownership of your learning path, as this is the foundation of success with MAPS. I understand that it might not be easy initially, but remember that the initial challenge is a stepping stone. As you progress and build your strength, you'll uncover the immense joy in the process of learning, and this newfound strength will be your lifelong companion.
