I have a Masters Degree in history and have taught in person, as well as remote during Covid shutdowns, for five years. I taught everything from grades 5-12 and some college classes as well. Working for a year in a school resource room helping students as young as Kindergarten age was a wonderful background to learn how to assist students with both disabilities and who struggle in school! I love history and this passion comes across to my students. I can help make the subject more interesting and come alive for you. Besides tips for learning basic historical facts, I can assist in; historical writing, how to develop short answers to history questions, reading through difficult texts and in understanding the broader concepts that are required in history classes. I am an energetic and compassionate educator and adapt my lessons to learning styles, age, interests and special accommodation needs that my students have. When I teach I like to vary my methods and lectures/descriptions and also use visual presentations so that learning is more interesting and engaging. I would enjoy the opportunity to hear your learning goals in my subject and help you with a personalized plan to learn the material!
