First lesson I would like to establish goals and key information about the class. Once those goals are established we do a short exercise or introduction for the rest of the first class.
From there the curriculum is based on the individual students goals and what they want to get out of the tutorials. the general time frame to accomplish those goals is estimated by me and then tracked at the end lesson by lesson so we are on track and on good pace to reach those goals.
We utilize a blended learning approach, incorporating a combination of theory, practical exercises, coding challenges, and hands-on projects to reinforce learning. These projects can either be self directed if a student has a particular programming project interest or a NEA for a levels. These projects are then looked through and improved in a further tutorial to teach best practice, debugging and optimization skills.
These classes are a intensive summer course which can be as breeze once a week class improvement or a intense multi times a week cram and crunch with appropriate timescales being adjusted to match the chosen pace of the student. For non intensive courses homework or out of tutorial work will be suggested to increase skill and pace for the next class and make sure nothing is lost between classes however this is at the digression of the parents.
Myself being dyslexic gives me a greater understanding of working with and creating engaging content for those with learning difficulties using tailor made material to what the student wants to get out of the process.
