Full-time teaching since 2003, I don't have one set method, I get to understand my students and can teach the way they want me to. Content can be negotiated, there are so many resources out there but for General English I favour New English File. For IELTS, I have designed my own course as an examiner of over 12 years and this does not require students to buy any materials. The course is typically 12 90-minute lessons with students doing exam practice at home. I can provide materials for this. I teach only in English and rarely depend on translation of new items. A mix of modern and traditional is in use in my lessons but I use absolutely ZERO AI. I offer potential students a free 15-minute consultation so we can agree aims for the course, and so I can understand their level and learning styles. As well as my native English, I am fluent in Italian, Russian, Kazakh and French as well as confident speaking Georgian and Manx Gaelic. I have a smattering of Egyptian Arabic and Chinese. In addition, my second job is writer/journalist and have written many things including original stories to help young people with their English I am based in Kazakhstan but don't worry, as I said, I am British and native speaker of English.
