I have taught and tutored the English language for over 12 years, with both young and mature students from Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. I have a CELTA qualification
I live on the Isle of Wight and am an occasional lecturer in English language at the Isle of Wight College,
I am now semi-retired from my professional work which has been in management training and development,
Through my work, I have travelled widely outside the UK, giving training workshops on subjects such as customer service, teamwork, and performance coaching. I continue to contribute from time to time on management training projects for training consultancies.
I have taught small groups of students in English language classes and have tutored on a one-to-one basis from introductory, up to advanced level, including English for use in everyday business.
In all my lessons I use a range of material, focused on the needs of students, - reading, speaking, discussion, writing skills, and, with student groups, practical exercises, and role plays. Learning should always include the opportunity to make students smile!
I have a personal interest in British history and culture and - if asked - will happily bring this into any coaching and teaching I give.
Through the Isle of Wight Education Federation, for whom I work from time to time as an Exam Invigilator, I have an enhanced DBS for working with children and young adults.
Am happy to talk further on how I can help with your English language skills !
