My teaching methods are a bit different from other teachers, as I focus on the positive of making mistakes! My theory behind this method is that you have to be prepared to constantly make errors in order to learn from them and to improve. This creates a learning atmosphere in which the student is fearless, makes the lesson more enjoyable, and consequently the student is likelier to progress quicker than otherwise.
Every lesson is started with a recap of the previous one, as it is so important, when learning languages, to constantly revisit what has been covered.
I encourage the student to be able to ask, as well as answer, questions, as this is an important part of conversing in any language. In addition to this, I like to arrange some lessons around the student's particular hobbies and interests. This makes total sense, as these are the topics people will often talk about when they meet new people.
A one hour lesson will usually be broken into 6 x 10 minute sessions to keep it interesting. However, the first lesson will be to assess the student's level and what their particular aim is.
